About This Event

Friday, November 6, 2020, 10 - 10:45 am

Get a glimpse of some un-ZOO-sual careers at the Smithsonian's National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute. Join us on the first Friday of every month as we meet the faces behind saving species and explore a variety of unique careers available in science, technology, engineering, art and math.
Tune in this month to meet Jessica, a Licensed Veterinary Technician at the Smithsonian's National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute. As a Zoo Veterinary Technician, Jessica provides medical care and treatment for all the Zoo's animals. She ensures the health and well-being of our mammals, birds, aquatic species, reptiles, and some invertebrates by assisting with surgical procedures and exams, administering medications, monitoring health vital signs, and more.

This webinar will be captioned. If you need any additional services, please contact [email protected].

Teachers and families, please help students under the age of 13 join the webinar. You may be prompted to enter an attendee name and email. For the attendee's name, please use only the student's first name and for the email address, please only use an adult's email address.
